Founding of the Société Chimique de Gerland in Lyon, the origin of our technical expertise.This is precisely how Ocono (formerly Schauenburg Hose Technology Group) emerged: a union of strong companies that combine diversity and stability under a common vision. And this history extends even further back than the traditional line of our group: our historical roots trace back to the Société Chimique de Gerland in Lyon (founded in 1906) as the early origin from which expertise and development work in technical applications have been carried forward over the decades.
1994 – Founding
Establishment of GAP Plastomère SARL in Montélimar and its integration into Ocono (formerly Schauenburg Hose Technology Group).
A major milestone came in 1994, when GAP Plastomère SARL was founded in Montélimar and, in the same year, became part of what was then the Schauenburg Hose Technology Group, now known as Ocono. Over many years, the company developed into an established player in the French market, with a strong focus on customer proximity, technical consultation and tailor-made hose solutions for a wide range of applications. As our portfolio expanded, so did our expertise and experience in systematically translating complex industry requirements into suitable products, robust specifications and reliable implementation.
Growth & Networking — Expanding technical consulting and developing customized hose solutions.
At the same time, an increasingly close network of other specialists in Europe and internationally emerged, whose group dynamics continue to shape our approach today: In Germany, expertise in hose manufacturing grew at several locations, while additional units were added in other markets – including Italy and Romania with sales-oriented structures, as well as China and America with their own local presence. The result was a network that combines market proximity with scale and specialist knowledge.

The name Ocono (formerly Schauenburg Hose Technology Group) brings together strong companies and specialized expertise with a central brand identity. As Ocono France SARL, we are based in France – and at the same time part of Ocono with a European and international presence.
Ocono Worldwide2026 - Ocono France SARL
The transition from GAP Plastomère to Ocono France.From 2026 onwards, the role of our site in France has been consistently refined: Ocono France SARL focuses on sales, consulting and logistics for the French market, while production within the group is concentrated at specialised sites. This structure creates clarity, stable quality and even better feasibility – without losing the direct connection to the market. With the rebranding in April 2026, GAP Plastomère SARL became Ocono France SARL, now operating under a new name. Since then, the other companies of Ocono have also been operating under the strong Ocono brand – both in Europe and internationally in China. Today, we represent the best of both worlds: the experience and customer focus we have gained throughout our history – and the stability, diversity and solution expertise of an international network.
